Yesterday I have been to the Interpol concert in Berlin. My first Interpol concert and for sure not my last. I arrived late so I missed half of the opening act... which wasn't that much of a shame, considering my impression that Blonde Redhead managed to be kind of funky on the one hand but on the other hand shrill an boring at the same time. Not really my world.
Interpol of course where absolutely cool in the full sense of the word. They were pretty much the way I expected them to be. Standing there like the most stylish statues ever. The only one one who appeared to be somewhat enjoying what he did on stage was Daniel Kessler (the guitarist). I mean, he actually moved. But hey, that's the show and their music is not really the kind of stuff you do wild acrobatics to.
Anyway, great setlist, although two of my personal favourite songs where missing. Evil, Slow Hands and Heinrich must have been the best live songs yesterday. They also played Mammoth, which is pretty much the only Interpol song absolutely can't stand... but to my surprise it sounded fabulous live. After all it was a great concert and I wish I could see them again today.
I'm not good at writing reviews. Just wanted to mention the concert since I have been waiting for it so long.

- and I'm curious.. what's your two favourite songs?
..and as for the "dancing kessler"... heh.. the second day we saw that there was a guy actually taking care of him not falling in the line from the guitar... (he did some months ago at a show, with the guitar and all..)
